  Roman silver coin hoard found in 2 pots by Blaydon  posted by imperio on 25 Apr : 15:57
 
While out with the Blaydon metal detecting club a member discovers a hoard of roman silver coins hidden in 2 pots, Was it hidden in times of trouble by a roman soldier 1800 years ago, who sadly never returned to collect his savings we may never know. The hoard is with the British museum where the coins will be emptied from the 2 pots in a controlled manner and recorded, We suspect the pots may also contain gold coins due to the weight of the pots. We await news . Enjoy this unique event thanks all.
